Tranexamic acid, an old molecule with a new life in dermatology. TA is an effective drug in the treatment of skin imperfections and other dermatological concerns.

Indications
The treatment of skin imperfection is the major indication. Like skin redness.

Tranexamic acid is known as an oral medicine for treating skin imperfections. Its rare but severe side effects when taken orally, such as pulmonary embolism, deep-vein thrombosis, myocardial or cerebrovascular infarction, make risky its systemic use in dermatology. When intradermal TA is used in office sessions combined with topical TA at home, it represents a new, safe and effective treatment to eliminate and attenuate major skin imperfections.

Topical 3% TA Cream, a revolutionary formula for skin tone imperfections.

Active ingredients
Tranexamic Acid 3%.

Tranexamic Acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid Lysine and it has been used for a long time as a traditional hemostatic medicine since 1962. The first mention of TA in dermatology was in 1979 reported a very good result by using oral TA in Actinic Prurigo (Skin disorder due to sun exposure).
Later, TA was under study in dermatology and in 1998 demonstrated in vitro that TA could block melanogenesis.

Management of skin imperfections. Extended use with clinical data:

• Skin redness.

Properties
TRANACIX® – Treatment aim: Imperfections of the skin tone.
The imperfections of the skin tone may be classified in two major categories. First, the spots of pigmentary origin (melanin) and the second category refer essentially to skin redness and in this case the causative factor is not melanin.

TRANACIX® with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) – In reality, sunscreen should be applied every day, even if it is overcast outside or you’re spending much of the day inside. UV radiation is not only present on a warm summer’s day but are also present and can damage skin when the weather is cool, or there is cloud cover.

TRANACIX® Day Cream with SPF 20 – In addition to the beneficial action of Tranexamic Acid, SPF 20 will have UV protective action against solar radiation on a normal sunny day. Therefore, the treatment involves twice-a-day application in the morning and at night.

Directions for use
On perfectly clean skin apply TRANACIX® Cream (twice / thrice a day, in the morning /afternoon / at night) on the considered areas. Slightly massage in order to make its absorption easier. Once perfectly absorbed, makeup is possible.

TRANACIX® Day Cream with SPF 50+ should protect your skin 50 times as long as your skin would be able to naturally protect itself. SPF 50+ blocks 98% UV (UV-B).
Therefore, it is recommended for day use, in conditions of intense sun exposure.

The treatment involves TRANACIX® Day Cream with SPF 50+ twice a day application, in the morning & in the afternoon and followed by TRANACIX® Night Cream at night.
